Our EAP Services is growing and we are looking for a skilled Counsellor to join our busy team in Wellington CBD where they will work with a variety of clients on maximising their well-being. 

EAP Services is a brief intervention service. Our Counsellors work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment on a broad range of mental health matters from couples counselling, addiction, trauma, child and adolescent counselling and dealing with grief - to name a few. You will also provide supervision to clients as part of EAP's leadership and mentoring programme. 

Main responsibilities:  

• Deliver focused interventions so that clients ace coping mechanisms at work and life
• Visit worksites to provide support after an event disruption
• Deliver counselling services via in-person, video and telehealth
• Deliver training to customer employees

The ideal candidate:

• A strong sense of others – we’re looking for sensitivity and empathy as traits
• Current APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB or NZCCA
• Tertiary level 7 Counselling or related qualification and a minimum of five years of post-study experience in general counselling is required.
• Preference given to applicants who bring strong cultural and equity clinical practice
• Experience in the following areas is desirable: psychological first aid, couples counselling and working with children and teenagers.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models e.g. SFT, CBT, FACT is desirable
• Can work independently and attend on-sites for psychological first aid.
