Job Description

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in New Plymouth

About the role...

As a Psychologist at Habit Health, you’ll provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological services to clients experiencing a range of psychological and psychosocial challenges. You’ll manage your own clinical caseload and work autonomously, while being well supported by a collaborative, experienced team. Our psychologists work across a variety of ACC and rehabilitation contracts, delivering assessments, recommendations, and interventions that support recovery and sustainable outcomes.

A day in the life...

  • Delivering psychological assessments, treatment plans, and evidence-based interventions
  • Supporting clients to achieve meaningful rehabilitation and wellbeing goals
  • Utilising "Heidi", our AI note-taking assistant, to produce high-quality clinical notes and reports
  • Communicating effectively with clients, whānau, funders, and stakeholders (including ACC)
  • Working collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care plans
  • Participating in case conferences, IDT meetings, and service reviews
  • Work across advanced and specialist ACC contracts (e.g. pain, concussion, training for independence)
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring, or guidance to psychologists or interns
  • Assist with complex or specialist assessments

The successful candidate will have...

  • A recognised postgraduate qualification in Psychology (MA/MSc/PGDip/DClin or equivalent)
  • Registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and a current APC
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (NZCCP or NZ Psychological Society)
  • A client-centred, outcomes-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Full NZ driver's licence
  • Ideally, 5+ years of relevant clinical experience
