We’re on the lookout for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Clinician ready to step into the pivotal role of Clinical Lead – Vocational Services - Canterbury. This is a deeply rewarding area of practice, supporting individuals as they safely and sustainably return to work after injury.From tailored return to work planning to coordinating with employers and other health professionals, your leadership will help clients regain independence and confidence.
Based in Christchurch, you’ll provide strong clinical leadership, coaching, and best practice guidance—while continuing to maintain your own clinical caseload. Working alongside Service Leads, Team Leads, and the Regional Manager, you’ll play a key part in driving service excellence, optimising health outcomes, and supporting innovation in a fast paced environment.

Main responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and support to ensure high quality, consistent service delivery across the region.
- Work collaboratively with Service Leads, Team Leads and the Regional Manager to support integrated, customer focused care
- Triage and allocate referrals appropriately, ensuring timely and effective management within KPI timeframes.
- Maintain a clinical caseload, delivering services in line with best practice, contractual requirements and performance guidelines.
- Promote efficient workflows by utilising internal reporting tools, identifying areas for improvement and implementing practical solutions.
- Support and mentor clinicians, providing supervision, second opinions and guidance on client management processes.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with Habit Health values, standards, guidelines and contractual requirements.
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of relevant contracts, operational guidelines, legislation and policies, including ACC frameworks where applicable.
- Monitor service performance, clinical outcomes, budget utilisation and client satisfaction, taking action to drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in the chosen field
- Current Annual Practising Certificate as a registered health professional
- Active membership of professional associations required under ACC contracts
- A minimum of 5+ years’ relevant industry experience
- Postgraduate qualification completed or currently in progress
- Strong ACC operational, medical and policy knowledge within the rehabilitation sector
- Proven ability to adapt communication style to build rapport and credibility across diverse industries
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and develop comprehensive reports and resource materials
- Strong written communication skills
- Current driver licence
