We are now seeking a Clinical Lead – Pain Management in Wellington, someone deeply passionate about chronic pain rehabilitation and committed to shaping exceptional, person-centred care.

This is more than a leadership role. It’s an opportunity to influence how pain is understood, treated, and experienced by clients across the region.

A day in the life...

  • Champion a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to persistent pain rehabilitation
  • Partner with the Pain Service Lead and Clinical Leads nationally to evolve and enhance our Pain Management Service
  • Provide clinical guidance and mentoring to a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, dietitians, and social workers
  • Maintain a clinical caseload, supporting clients navigating complex and often long-term pain journeys.
  • Ensure care is integrated, evidence-based, and aligned with ACC best practice
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, whānau, referrers, and stakeholders
  • Contribute to new initiatives that advance innovation and excellence in pain care

Please note: this is not a direct people management role, but you will provide clinical expertise and mentorship

The successful candidate will have...

  • Genuine passion for working in chronic pain rehabilitation
  • Understanding the complexity of persistent pain and the power of interdisciplinary care
  • Motivation to improve outcomes for clients whose lives have been impacted by long-term pain
  • Brings warmth, credibility, and clinical confidence to your leadership style
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Psychology (or equivalent) and a current annual practising certification
  • At least five years’ clinical experience (leadership exposure highly valued)
  • Specific experience in chronic pain management and rehabilitation
  • Strong knowledge of ACC operational and medical frameworks
  • A full driver’s licence (travel required between Wellington sites)
