Job Description

Our busy Rotorua clinic is looking for a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our allied health team and support people the way they deserve to be taken care of – the Habit Health way.

Based in the heart of the Bay of Plenty, Rotorua offers an unbeatable lifestyle. Enjoy world-class mountain biking in the Redwoods, stunning lakes for kayaking and paddleboarding, geothermal wonders, and an easy commute with no big-city traffic. With affordable housing, a strong sense of community, and access to some of New Zealand’s most beautiful natural landscapes, Rotorua is the perfect place to build both your career and your lifestyle.

This role is open to clinicians of all levels. Whether you're in the early learning stages of your career or are able to hit the ground running, this is a fantastic opportunity for a clinician to join our supportive and high-performing Rotorua team.

Main responsibilities:

Our OTs work across a variety of contracts, including Social Rehab, Vocational Rehab, Pain, and Training for Independence (TI) so there are multiple streams to grow into and lead from. Day to day, you will...

  • Develop and implement in-clinic and community rehabilitation programmes
  • Liaise with allied health team members in a supportive MDT environment
  • Create patient reports on client abilities, goals and best-practice interventions
  • Utilise diary management software effectively

The benefits of working with us:

  • Market-competitive salary – we ensure our teams feel valued
  • Monthly performance-based bonus so you can earn even more
  • Annual budget for professional development and study
  • Reimbursement of professional registration/APC fees (pro-rated for part-time hours)
  • Clinical supervision provided
  • Opportunities to further develop your rehabilitation expertise
  • Permanent role with clear career progression
  • Great team culture with regular social events, weekly treats and award schemes
  • Wellbeing initiatives, including annual eye exam, flu vaccination and access to EAP services

Provision of enhanced AI tools to boost your performance:

Habit is proud to have introduced Heidi Notes for all clinicians. Heidi is an AI medical scribe that automates clinical documentation and significantly reduces administrative load, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional clinical care. In turn, you’ll be well positioned to make the most of our uncapped incentive programme, enabling you to earn an additional performance bonus every month.

The ideal candidate:

  • NZ OT registration and current APC
  • Ability to effectively manage your time and caseload
  • Full NZ Driver’s licence for community rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication skills – you’ll be meeting new and varied people every day

For Occupational Therapists based overseas, as an accredited employer, we provide full support with the AEWV process, assistance in gaining your New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board licence, practical help to settle smoothly into life in New Zealand, and a contribution towards relocation costs to make your move as seamless as possible.
