The Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) is part of the wider Pacific Health Group, delivering confidential, high-quality support to employees navigating work and life challenges. We are now seeking an empathetic and experienced Counsellor to join our Tauranga team, supporting local organisations across the Bay of Plenty and delivering care the way it should be – the Pacific Health way.

Main responsibilities:

• Deliver focused, solution-oriented interventions that enable clients to strengthen coping strategies at work and in life
• Attend worksites across Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty to provide support following disruptive or traumatic events
• Provide counselling services via in-person, video, and telehealth sessions
• Deliver wellbeing and resilience training to client organisations

The ideal candidate:

• A strong sense of empathy and sensitivity – people are at the heart of what we do
• Current APC with NZAC, DAPAANZ, SWRB, or NZCCA
• Tertiary Level 7 qualification in Counselling (or related field) and a minimum of five years’ post-study experience in general counselling
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy models such as SFT, CBT, or FACT (desirable)
• Ability to work independently and attend on-site for psychological first aid
• Experience in trauma intervention and psychological first aid
