We’re looking for an experienced senior Occupational Health Nurse to join our Wellington team as Clinical Lead – Occupational Health. This role combines hands-on clinical expertise with the opportunity to lead and support Occupational Health nursing services across the Wellington Region. The successful candidate will help influence, guide and grow a high-performing regional team, with support from our national Occupational Health leadership team.
In this role, you’ll provide clinical leadership and guidance to our Occupational Health nurses, support safe and consistent service delivery, champion evidence-informed practice and help drive high-quality outcomes for our customers and their people. You’ll work closely with clinicians, the Service Lead and operational leaders to strengthen clinical practice, develop our people, manage clinical quality and identify opportunities to enhance our Occupational Health services across the region.

Main responsibilities:
- Work with the Service Lead to review Occupational Health nursing capacity, capability and service delivery across Wellington.
- Provide clinical guidance, mentoring and support to Occupational Health nurses, including advice on complex clinical situations.
- Review complex clinical reports and support consistent, high-quality reporting for customers.
- Support clinical quality, risk management and continuous improvement across Occupational Health services.
- Build positive relationships with internal teams, customers and external stakeholders.
- Support the wider team to deliver practical, responsive and clinically sound outcomes for customers and their people.

What you’ll bring:
- Registered Nurse qualification with current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Strong Occupational Health nursing experience, ideally across workplace health assessments, health monitoring or workplace surveillance.
- Experience with services such as pre-employment health assessments, vaccinations, health screening, workplace health advice, drug and alcohol testing or injury prevention would be valuable.
- Confidence reviewing reports, supporting clinical decision-making and providing practical advice to customers.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with nurses, operational teams and employer customers.
- Five plus years’ experience in a clinical role, with leadership or mentoring experience being advantageous.
- A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, Occupational Health risk and relevant clinical standards.
